Permissions and personal data

• Network — required to sync data and load map tiles and images.
• Location (optional) — used only to show where you are on the map and to centre it on you. The app works fine if you deny it, and you can grant it later.

You can grant location from the locate button on the map; the app asks only when you use it.

Your GPS data never leaves your device. Even if you grant the location permission, your position is not sent to BTC Map servers; it is used only in the app, to show where you are and to centre the map on you.

Your account

The only personal data BTC Map holds is the account you create, and only if you choose to create one. An account is a username and a password. We never ask for KYC details such as an email address, so an account is not linked to the person who holds it unless they disclose the link themselves.
