Boosts

Boosting is a paid way to make a merchant stand out. A boosted place is drawn in Bitcoin orange on the map, is highlighted in search results, and appears in the boosted locations section. The fee supports the BTC Map open-source project.

Boosting a merchant

1. Open a place and tap Boost.

2. Choose a duration:

   • 1 Month
   • 3 Months
   • 12 Months

   The current price for each duration is loaded with the quote.

3. Continue to request an invoice.

4. Pay it with a compatible Lightning wallet — scan the QR code or use the Pay button, and copy the invoice if your wallet needs it.

5. Once the payment is confirmed, the boost is active and the screen closes.

The options and the continue button stay locked until the quote has loaded, so you cannot accidentally order or pay twice.

Notes

• Boosting does not require an account.
• A compatible Lightning wallet must be installed; if none is available, the app tells you.
• Places from the bundled offline snapshot cannot be boosted until they have been replaced by the live record from a sync.
